The Litchfield Hills

The Litchfield Hills in Northwestern Connecticut are part of the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and the Appalachian Trial runs through Northwest Connecticut. The Hills run roughly North-South and several large rivers run through the area. The Gardens at Post Hill, in Morris, is located behind the Eastern slope of Mount Tom, one of the higher peaks in Connecticut.

Looking westward from the summit of Mt. Tom. Mt. Tom Pond is seen at the base of Mt. Tom. The more distant hills are in New York state.
