Some of the Cypripedium candidum and parviflorum prior to be taken to the Boston Flower Show.
Congratulations to Tina Balog and her colleagues for designing, setting up, and manning (10 days!) a marvelous display. They won the Massachusetts
Horticultural Society Silver Medal, the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Research Award Silver Medal, and the Ralph Werman Award for
exceptional educational merit.
Note the varied colors of the sepals of these Cyp candidum. The brown in the sepals may represent introgression from Cyp parviflorum growing nearby.
A nice clump of Cypripedium candidum with flowers opening.
These Cyp parviflorum var. makasin have a very sweet scent.
